Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez said he was disappointed after his side's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
A superb second half equaliser from Fernando Torres earned the Reds a point after George Boateng had put the home side ahead, but Benitez believes they were unfortunate not to win after a second half fightback.

"We're disappointed because we started well and had a good chance with Gerrard, but after that we weren't controlling things", said Rafa.

"The second half was different because we were attacking and creating chances to score. The attitude of the players was really good and you can see that they were trying to win, but when you're trying to close the gap you have to be disappointed."

Torres' second half thunderbolt was his 17th of what's becoming an increasingly excellent season and Rafa had special praise for the goalscorer.

"Torres is a great player and it was a fantastic goal. He is a threat in every game."
