Rafa Benitez plans to select his strongest possible side when Luton Town travel to Anfield for the FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday.
The Spaniard this week denied he selected a weakened side at Kenilworth Road, pointing to the fact he had 10 internationals in the side.
"I was surprised when a journalist questioned me about not using my strongest team," said Benitez, who was without Steven Gerrard for the initial tie due to injury.
"We had 10 international players in the side but the journalist was just talking about Fernando Torres, so I think he didn't know exactly about our squad.
"We will approach the replay with the same idea. I will use a strong team again because we want to progress in the FA Cup.
"It is a fantastic competition and we want to win it again."
Benitez, whose side have seen in the New Year with three consecutive draws, admits the performance at Luton was not good enough.
However, the Liverpool boss is confident his players can shake off their indifferent form to record a first win of 2008.
"It wasn't good enough, that is clear. We were really disappointed after the game but a lot of Premier League teams didn't even get a replay," he said.
"We watched some videos and we knew it could be a tough game because they are physical and for them it was like a final.
"It was an opportunity for their players to show their quality and put themselves in the window. You must give credit to them because they played well.
"Maybe we can learn from this game and it will be totally different at Anfield. We have another opportunity now and I have a lot of confidence in our team. I think we will win because we want to progress in the competition."
Luton, currently in administration, have lost several players since the initial tie including David Edwards and Chris Coyne.
Frustrated by player sales, manager Kevin Blackwell has tendered his resignation and will step down in February.
The winner of Tuesday's tie will face either League One Swansea City or non-league Havant and Waterlooville.

I am disgusted by the failure and lies of the so-called custodians of OUR club. You have failed at every turn to live up to the expectations of the true owners of this great institution. The failure can only be corrected now by a rapid departure as all faith by the true owners has been lost. Sell now, do not delay as you are now walking ALONE. Also the silence of Mr. Parry and his inability to direct the owners regarding appropriate behaviour as custodians of LFC suggests that he too has failed in his responsibilities to the club. He too must resign immediately. He now has no credibility with the true owners. The single person is this whole affair that has shown the dignity, respect and passion for all aspects of LFC is our manager, Rafael Benitez. We are so very lucky to have this person to lead us forward. Let there be no doubt in the minds of the custodians and Mr. Parry that they have treated the manager, players and true owners of the club in the most disrespectful fashion. You have no future with LFC.
Aside from the oodles of money Chelsea had at their immediate disposal, it is no surprise that long term manager stability at Arsenal and Man Utd has brought them success. Giva Rafa a 10 year contract
Please Hicks/Gillet sell your shares and leave the club to someone genuinely interested in Liverpool FC and football. You are conducting yourselfs with a total disregard of the club, the manager, the fans and players...please sell the club now to DIC they care want happens to Liverpool club, when you both bought the club you promised this and that and nothing has happened. except one thank 2 you both for buying TORRES who is world class. The time has come to leave as we just don't trust the both of you ANYMORE... Sorry.
I cannot believe OUR club is being dragged through the dirt by people who clearly have no idea how the system works in this country, I only hope that they leave before the best manager to grace the walls of anfield does.
It has takes deceniums and even centuries to build the tradition which LFC is built upon, but it only takes days and months to break it down. Rafa's the man God damn it.Keep him at Anfield.Don't you people dare play with our sentiments.
Please dont drag our club thru the mud. Back our manager, he is a gem. Dont bite off more than you can chew G&H.
Enough is enough. Rafa is the best manager we've had for two decades and if he needs time, then give him time. Don't interfere with something you don't understand. For the first time in my life I am embarrased to be a red. Football is religion, don`t mess with the biggest of them all,LFC.
I am really sad. The club, mangager and the players are suffering because of out owners behavior. If there are problems - keep them inside the board room. The most important thing - treate employees with respect. They will come up trumps if you support and guide them.
Rafa is Liverpool's Current Trophy . He is a MUST STAY manager ..
SUPPORT RAFA PLEASE!!
